It's cute whatever it turns out to be. I can't think of any large fowl chick with that coloring, either. So I'd go with EE bantam for now.I agree. I've got a coop full of EE's and true Amerucana. Doesn't quite fit the profile but as you suggested, lots of variation in the EE.
View attachment 1484009 View attachment 1484012 Received my 18 super sparky D'anver chicks from McMurray this week and opted for the free rare to be included. Appears likely bantam due to size but possibly not. Looks either rose or pea comb, clean legs. I don't see anything in the bantam collection that would fit other than perhaps bantam amerucana, no obvious beard/muff though. Thoughts?
Maybe a green queen Easter Egger? Not sure but so prettty!View attachment 1484009 View attachment 1484012 Received my 18 super sparky D'anver chicks from McMurray this week and opted for the free rare to be included. D'Anvers are the cutest. Even as adults they are cute.I'm thinking McMurray "probably" doesn't ship full sized poultry with bantams, at least not in the small 15 bird box, so I think we will have to go with EE for now. Let's hope it's a hen that lays robin blue eggs.
Talk about cute, you outta see the 18 little black D'anver bumble bees come running out from under the brooder plate.
Hopefully they'll calm down a bit. Bantam chicks especially have lots of energy.I've got some blue quail d'anvers from Ideal, a poor representation of the breed but I couldn't believe a first crow at 4.5 weeks from one of the little Roos. Easily handled birds for sure. The little black ones from McMurray , no larger than a pecan, come running out and try to spar with my hand. It will be interesting to see how that attitude evolves over time.
