I ordered 16 unsexed brown leghorn chicks from McMurray and selected the option for the free surprise chick, and this is it. I have had them for a little over 24 hours so they are probably 4 or 5 days old, including this one. Very placid and calm, especially compared to the leghorn peeps. This little guy will just sit calmly in the palm of my hand. Very fluffy and has hairy feet. I know it is pretty early to ID, but someone in another thread asked, and I would be off topic in that thread by posting this little guy's pic and asking for breed ID. Sorry the closeup of his little hairy foot is out of focus, best my phone will do. In the first pic I have just picked him up. In the second, about a minute later, he has already chilled enough to take a nap. Handed him to my wife and he was like duh, okey dokey. Then when she returned him to the brooder it took some encouraging for him to leave the hand and rejoin the flock of skittish leghorn peeps.
