McMurray mystery chick, what do we have?

It is a Silver Cuckoo Marans because it has pink colored shanks. Although this method doesn't always work, but in barred breeds neat round head spots usually means pullet, while sloppy head spots usually means cockerel. Your chick seems to have a neat head spot so I'm leaning towards pullet.
Thank you! I am really hoping for a female cuckoo maran! My original thought was female barred rock based on the combination of darkish legs, defined head spot, and s/he looks dark with light spots vs. light with dark spots, but s/he is still so young, it's hard to tell.

Here he/she is again, 2 1/2 weeks old. (And totally unimpressed with my photo taking) This one is our biggest chick, and has gotten quite the defined comb, which makes me think rooster. Thoughts?

Hi all, our chickies are now 4 weeks old, and above is our mystery chick. Has a big comb, which makes me think roo, but dark wash legs wich has me hoping pullet... Anyone to confirm/deny?

Given the size of the comb and the lightness of the barring, it's definitely looking like a Cuckoo Marans cockerel. If that comb reddens up in the next month or so, you will know for sure that you have a cockerel.

Thanks, it's already red around the edges, I think it's safe to say that Sherlock is a boy.
