McMurray orders delayed?

Anyone expect shipment today from McMurray? I was expecticng mine yesterday or today. I called McMurray and they said that they thought the orders would be delayed due to storm there this weekend, but she said very few didn't make it to airport. Mine went thru but has not made it here yet. I am concerned that time is not on the little chicks side. This is my replacement order of a box of chicks that died last week. I am not having good luck here. Getting worried.

Foghorn, have you called your post office to see if they are in?
Depending where you live, you may want to call the main post office for the area. ( I live in a small town and the chicks actually came to a near to us larger town's post office)
Usually they call you, but you never know.
Hope the peeps get to you safely.

McMurray is in Iowa and if you saw the news we had a terrible ice storm go through, I got back from chicago this am at 3:30 and there were many cars and semis in the ditches and medians of the interstate, and I have tons of tree branches and limbs down. Power was lost in many area of Iowa. esp N central IA which Webster City is very close to

Foghorn, I called some old friends 2 post offices away from me. They said my chicks just arrived there today. I was expecting them last night while I was at work. It seems this order is a day behind. I am bringing food and sugar to make a sugar water thing tonight. I would expect that yours will be there tommorrow also. Get ready tonight like I am.

I have been ready for a while now. The brooder has been warmed up for over a day. I also added the sugar to the water.
I, of course, expect them by tomorrow morning. Hopefully early enough so that I can tend to them before going to work. My brother will be backup so they will be taken care of. Temps here have been much better but that all depends on where they have sat. Whether in a nice warm area or on a cold dock. I pray this time all goes well.

I have been on the phone constantly. Being an employee of the postal service has some perks. I know alot of area offices and they are on the lookout for my chicks. Its the first half of the trip I am most worried about. I am sure I will get a call soon. I just hope there are lots of cheeping when I do!

Mine will be on the 2am truck, I will be there with food, water, camera and all. Alot of my old friends back in Montgomery were wondering what I was doing with chickens. I am originally from NYC, they just dont understand. LOL

OUR FLOCK WAS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE FROM MCMURRAY TODAY! I am trying not to worry, but it is snowing here and very cold. I think they were shipped on Friday. Hopefully everything is ok. I have some postings under the title "University Chick Flock." I will update it when our babies arrive- will you keep me updated?
