What's the temperature where you are???

Here are the key details regarding the hottest spots in Western Australia so far in 2026:
  • Onslow: Recorded temperatures reaching 49°C on January 7, making it among the hottest places in the world that day. It has been consistently cited as having some of the highest maximums during this period.
  • Marble Bar: Widely known as "Australia's hottest town," it has also recorded temperatures near or exceeding 46°C–50°C+ during January 2026 heatwaves.
  • Other Notable Hotspots: Shark Bay Airport set a record of 49.2°C on January 20. Geraldton also recorded a blistering 47.1°C
Well what do you know - I live in one of the 4 hottest spots in WA
It's 32C (90F) at 8.11AM - but don't worry - it's expected to reach 40C (104F) a little later in the day. No breeze till 5PM last evening, so it should be easily doable.

That is plenty warm 😳😳😳

Be safe in these crazy hot temps, soon be Autumn for you and hopefully the weather will settle down.

13F at 3AM. Blistering today with a high of 32F.
Catching up on everyone’s eggciting weather tales, yesterday morning it was -21C but by the time I drove home it was a balmy -3C.

Today (shocker) snow, only a few cm but still it’s annoying. But at least it only -5C and not -20C.

This week is a bit milder then by the weekend return to reality.

Big news was the Candlemas Day (groundhog day) predictions for an early Spring. Hahaha ya right. My Clyde predicted an early Spring last year and that ended up a dismal failure! He told ‘Hooman I am not doing any more predictions for you’.

Snow didn’t melt till April….

It's 6:30pm here. The current temp is a whopping 33 F, a whole degree above freezing! The best part about that amazingly warm temperature is that we didn't go "up" to get to it ... we came DOWN from 36! Today was absolutely gorgeous - bright blue sky, sunshine, minimal wind - just beautiful. Tonight's lows should be in the mid 20's. We'll take it!
We've been warned not to get used to it, though. There's another plummet predicted for Thursday and another mess coming in over the weekend. Still ... today's little reprieve was SO nice!

I have heard though, that the cold snap is coming to an end for us, which means you too @MROO should start receiving a warm up middle off the month.

Today it really is -8F. The sun is high enough now to be warm during daytime. Well... A little bit. The birds enjoy sitting outside in mid-day sun.

It's been cold for weeks, and it's not gonna change any time soon. On the plus side, no snow! :p

Our Great Lakes which are the snow makers here have frozen over the most they have in yrs! So any snow from now on will be from storm systems moving up from the Midwest US. And those can dump huge amounts of snow also.

But hopefully those will be few and far between.
