So McMurray is going to ship out 8 replacement banties for me but will have to ship out roosters as packing peanuts..... Does anyone want a small order of chicks? they said they could replace the roosters with someone else's chicks if I want. My father said he would help the roosters to the dinner table once they are ready but I really would rather not have 15 - 20 roosters

I think my dear fiancee will no longer be my dear fiancee

I think it is best that your financee understand your obsessions right off the bat! He should know the worst, that you will probably always be acquiring chickens and probably other pets too and he needs to get used to them!

Can you find someone to split an order with do you think? I can't help. I am in West Virginia.

put an add up in craigs list today saying they can pick 15 of any breed to add to your order and the shipping is on you. you should get a taker in a few hours either that or pay for 15 pullets of any good egg laying breed then sell them off on craigs list, may cost a bit more but they will be easy to sell that way.

Ask them if you can delay receiving your replacement chicks until later in the year after the weather warms up. That way they could probably safely ship your replacements without adding packing peanuts.

Where in MA are you? I might consider it if I could order Cornish X chicks. When are you expecting delivery. I'm in Amesbury, MA..

I had this happen as well. You can't order any more chicks to add to your order unless you plan on paying shipping again. I didn't want any roos, but ended up keeping 1 we gave the rest to a farm who had a petting zoo and she needed chicks. Since they were free she didn't mind, nor did I, and then it was on her to do with all those roo what she wished! Good luck with finding homes for all those roos!

If they are standard dual breed roosters than grow them to about 16 weeks and process them. If you can't do it, someone could be hired to process them. The other alternative is to sell, but think of the good eatin'
