I just wanted to know what percentage of pullets to roosters people often receive when ordering straight run from mcmurry. I would hope you usually get an even mix, thanks!

I had a order from Mcmurray back in April ordered a few str run cause that's only what they offer. I got 5 blue cochins 2 were female, 3 were male. Sadly 1 female died from a rat attack so now I only have 1.. I had a order of 5 BLRW 4 were males 1 was a female again the only girl died from a rat again..

Idk about the bigger orders of str run but smaller you get more males.

I bought 10 blue cochins and 10 BLR Wyandottes. With the cochins I also got one extra so I ended up with 6 males 5 females then with the Wyandottes I ended up with just 3 males and 7 females(although not even one was actually blue)The bigger the number the closer you get to 50/50.

I purchased Blue Indian Runner ducks from them. Order females and got all females, problem is only one is a Blue Indian Runner, the other two are mutts and now flying around the yard. I think it will be only another week or two and they will be out of the yard.
Very disappointed with them.
They did send one extra duckling, so that is one of the mutts. One of the "blue runner chicks" arrived dead. So I spent $60 dollars to get 3 runner ducklings and now only have one runner and two flying mutts.

I think st run is just that. The luck of the draw. I only order from McMurray now. Birds I order are much closer to breed standard then some other hatcheries ive used, And they are always really helpful over the phone with questions. Ive always received 100% live when I pick them up at the post office. Anyone I run into that wants to get started I always send them Mcmurrays way. I would say you have a pretty good chance of getting 50/50. Their silver laced wyandottes are beautiful.

As soon as they open for orders for 2013, I'm ordering 50 of their Ornamental layers. We'll see how many roos I get from a straight pullet order.

No hatching in 2013 for me.

I imagine I'll be selling a bunch of pullets come June. Ornamental Layer Collection

Super disappointed with them. i am trying to preserve White Langshans as they are one of the only breeders left and they keep sending me roosters. Also, the light brahmas are NOT light, they are a hodge-podge mix of dark and light-very poor type too.
