(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Me and my family own chickens since Feb 2023. First it was just 4 hens, then we incubated 8 more, so it was 12. Now we have 8 as we gave out cockrells because we live in town and neighbours would be very unhappy about 4 am wake up call
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 8 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have 4 hybrids, 1 silkie and 4 silver wyandottes.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Possibility to watch their behaviour. Obviously having fresh eggs is nice too
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Nature. Programming. Electronics. And changing nappies, of course!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have a dog. Pretty big one. He's VERY interested in our chickens. Still not sure if he wants to play with them or just eat them. No plans to check that in near future.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was reading forum for quite a while, including long before we have bought chickens. I joined because I feel like part of the community already and it felt weird not to be able to say "hello", "oh what a great idea! I'm going to steal it!" or whatever.
