I am very new to raising chickens and we just got them about 1 year ago and them have been wonderful so far.
We have 18 chickens and 1 rooster.
The breeds are 5 australops, 1 silver-laced wyandotte, 1 golden star, 5 red stars, 5 americanas, 1 mixture, and 1 rhode island rooster.
As for how I found out about BackYardChickens.com is because I was doing research on how to take care of our chickens and some health concerns about their health.
What I enjoy doing is gardening, painting, drawing, and trying to keep me busy with working around. I have a a nice family, who have been assisting in taking care of the chickens, and we also have one cats, Violet and she is so sweet. She is terrified of the chickens but she does her best to avoid them. so yeah. We do have a booth at the Farmers Market.
