Mealworm farming

Ok guys. Question. I'm reading up on gardening stuff and "worm casings" have been suggested as a good nutrient to put in with tomatoes. My question is, do you think mealworm casings fit the bill? I've got tons of that stuff.

Maybe they meant castings???? I have read about using castings (poop) from red wiggler worms and yes, I have read that some use the mealworm frass (poop) to fertilize house plants, flower beds and gardens. My thought is that like with all fertilizer, use a small amount so you dont burn your plants. I wonder if there's anyone.out there; that has made "mealworm tea."

Nothing better than meal worm casting, better than red worm castings. I use it all the time for my organic gardening and have sold a lot to other organic gardeners who had wonderful success in their gardens.
To see an analysis I found, please check back on my post #801, page 27.

I put my mealworm frass in the compost pile, but don's see why it couldn't be added in small quantities directly as fertilizer. Last week I saw a two pound bag of what was labelled as "Insect Frass" at the store for $26.49! I wonder if this is mealworm frass? (Wish I could sell mine for that.

Craigslist it! lol

I use the bottom half of cardboard egg cartons to transfer beetles. They love clinging to the underside. I have to do this a few times over 2 days but it beats other methods I have tried. Also, I put a piece of carrot under the egg cartons which helps attract them there. There are always a few stragglers but I get 95% moved this way.

Look at this, she us paper tubes to transfer them. Thats easy way also.

But why would you want to do this? It is more expensive than wheat bran (I even feed my worms the organic bran which is more expensive but still cheaper than chick starter).

Ok.
How about dry dog/cat fod? Can I smash it and then give to mealworms?
I have whole grain of wheat, corn and barley, what about that?
