Oranges work really well for me for the first 2 days after the mealies are shipped. After that i switch to carrots, asparagus (the butt ends that i don't eat, of course), oranges, and any other veggie scraps i have.

Mine looks very similar to this except I have crumpled newspaper and an empty paper towel roll in there too. I love the one bin method because it's so simple! If you look at the first page of this thread you'll find links to three different perspectives on raising mealworms, each with pictures. I use the single bin method which is the easiest way to get started.Would some of you that are raising mealworms please send pictures of your operation ? Sounds simple enough butI needpictures. I like the single bin method too because I don't have a lot of extra time to spend on them. Having something on the surface for them to crawl on and hide does help. I keep egg cartons on top to give the beetles more surface area to do their business, but I took them out for the pictures.
