So do the worms lose their skin when they turn into pupa? I'm seeing dried up mealworm (what I hope to be skins) on the top of my bran. They aren't dying their just turning right???
Dead worms will look black or dark. The shedding are normal mealworm color, are hollow, and easily blow away.So do the worms lose their skin when they turn into pupa? I'm seeing dried up mealworm (what I hope to be skins) on the top of my bran. They aren't dying their just turning right???
I heard future bugs just eat 'em.So how do you clean the skins out or do you just not bother?
Started off counting, made it to 1000 then gave up as there definitely looked to be enough in there! Had less than 10 doa and even had some pupae. I put a carrot in there and so far no one is interested in it. I am going to run to the store in a bit. I put a small container of oatmeal, flax and some bran in the bottom of the drawer but I need more to get it thick enough. Gave a couple to my chicks and only two grabbed right away. They will learn!
