Mealworm farming

I have mine outside under a tin roof, so it gets really hot on a hot day. They are in a really dark area which people said they liked.
I'm in Aussie here, so don't know Fahrenheit.
Well sounds like you have then nice and warm. Ideal temperatures are between 32 and 37 Celsius with the sweet spot being around the 35 C mark. Hope that helps.

DMRippy- I ordered some Matt's wild cherries. I hope they are yummy. I got them from here..... http://www.timeless-tomatoes.com/index.html

Wow, pretty and exotic looking tomatoes. I wasn't aware of all the different varieties.

My meal worms are doing well. Seeing many more beetles and large worms. So tempted to harvest some to feed the girls but told myself to exercise patience. I think I should see babies in a few weeks. Didn't know meal worm farming was this exciting. Lol!

I would like to know if anyone feeds the ones that die to the chickens? Also, can someone please tell me how long after seeing beetles until seeing new larvae?

I am learning so much from this website. Just received my 1st thousand Mealworms

& set them up in a 10 gal aquarium. Right now it is about 75 to 78 in my house. is that an OK temp to breed them. What is the best temp for them. Thank u all for sharing all this info. I am having so much fun with my chickies. I have 21 pullets & One Boy Whose name is Shish Kabob. I told him as long as he behaves himself I wont have to cook him. So far so good.

Is it going to make a difference if you do overcook the bran. Its not burnt. just a little darker?
