Mealworm farming

I don't know how to use this forum very well yet, I just landed upon it in the last day or two. I would be interested in getting some Pupae from you, and a few Beetles if you care to spare, of course at a reasonable price and shipping - I don't need a lot, but and good start would help. I'm trying to get a start on our Michigan fall/winter/spring feeding of our wild birds.

It took me awhile to do this, but I got a Flickr page figured out (I think) and uploaded the pictures of my MealWorm Farm set-up if anyone is interested please pop by the site and you are welcome to comment. I am most obviously in my farming infancy, but eager to learn, explore and experiment. I love our Wild Birds and look forward to some day, providing them a good food supplement that is as nutritious as I can possibly provide them. And as others, if and when I have more than I can handle... well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it so without further ado - here' my Flickr page and thank you for your encouragement and knowledge, it means a lot to me.

I only spent $10 I think getting my mealworms from someone on BYC. Don't remember if it was 5000 but she made sure I had all 3 stages and they are still doing well 3 years later, no mites or other pests

I also purchased mine from Rainbow MealWorms from Amazon (for two reason's 1. I've seen their name all over the place as being reputable and 2. I have a gift card and an Amazon Prime membership for free shipping - but theirs already included shipping so that was a non-issue. I have nothing negative to say about Rainbow Meal Worms.

Would be nice to patronize our local folks and BYC people, but how do we know w/out reading every background (if it is even listed) whether or not they sell????? Is there a thread for selling?

I don't know if Amy is still on here, but that is who I got mine from. I realize that is a LOT to go on, at the time the mealworm farming thread was really active. Now I can't remember her full name or her handle. But I know I got mine around Halloween 2011.

There is a Buy Sell Trade forum on here, but there are no posts and I couldn't even figure out how to start one.
