Mealworm farming

Anything watery, right?

Would really love to convince the chickens that I am not the enemy by giving them wormie treats.

They don't really go for night crawlers and such, so hoping they like mealworms, haha.

They love bread and scrambled eggs though.

What are oatmeal flakes, are they kinda like Corn Flakes the breakfast cereal?

Have cut any ventilation holes into your tubs? others that post on here have detailed how they cut out part of the lid and install screen material to provide ventilation.

Cakela ~ Buy a small container from a bait store or Petco and test it out. It seems chickens can't get enough of them once they try them. I had to bribe my young birds but it just took one wormie to convince them!

wyoDreamer ~ Rolled oats, the old fashion kind.

LOL That's probably a good idea!

I'll have to convince him to buy some when we get animal food later.

Wormie farm here I come!

This is more like what I did, working great except the top bin came off one day... no casualties though. It is now hot glued to the MAX

I've been cautious when pulling out that top drawer .... don't want it flying out scattering everything.

Grandkids add another dimension to the farm and escapees. Little fingers like to pick a worm and set it down outside the farm walls. As long as those little fingers don't SQUISH the wormies, it's okay.

We just shoveled them into a box for a couple of days till it was repaired... that is when I found my first beetles putting them back in the reg bin. My granddaughter like to look but I don't think she wants to touch ... yet
