Hey bobbyc....the weather had little to do with their problems. Please check out the first post on this thread. Those companies have all done a great job.

I used exoticnutrition, com and their worms were very robust and healthy. If I got more worms, I'd buy them there. Remember Bobby the total cost of the worms in not just the initial cost of the worms but how many survive to breed.

You had trouble with them living? Gosh, mine won't die! Not that I want them to but there are some boxes that have been neglected for months and they just keep going.

Maybe due to mold? Thankfully that isn't an issue here in my dry climate. Has anyone ever tried putting a container full of silica that the worms can't get into (covered with screen) in their box? That should help absorb some moisture, maybe...

Love my mealies: Have loads of beetles. At family reunion over the weekend got some weird looks from family when describing the mealworm farm and the love the chickens have for the mealies. Made me just chuckle. Cant wait to see the next round of worms. I love love love this thread!!!

I ordered 1000 plus pupae and beetles from crazyhuhn, and I am already ready to create a second "farm" to move the beetles into, maybe a 3rd also for the pupae...can't imagine that I would have to order again, but if I did, I would order from her again.
