mealworms...we got our 1st beetles!!!

You can feed them to the blue birds too and use them for fishing. Maybe even sell some to local fishermen

Yeah, I agree with ShaggysGirl. 1000 mealworms is nothing! My 7 chickens can eat 100 in under 10 seconds easily! I was timing them last night.

I started mine a few months back and got 5000 of mixed sizes... I have four tubs of "baby" worms and the last bunch of beetles are hard at work... I think I'm going to purchase a few more small batches over the next few months to keep the variety of stages so I can start feeding them again... I was worried since I didn't see any babies for a while but after six weeks or so after the beetles appeared I could see the wheat bran churning around...

I have never kept mine in the refrigerator so I'm sorry I can't answer that. I just keep them in a container with wheat bran.​
