I have some fifteen week old chicks that I have tried to handle and have them turn out nice as much as possible, and they have hated me, yet I think I've found the secret to success!
A couple months ago, I got some mealworms to start a mealworm farm. It has taken a while, but we finally have most the life stages, and plenty of mealworms to spare! Yesterday and today, I've given the teens a few mealworms and they're already following me around the yard, hoping some will magically fall from me, and now when I'm trying to get through the gate, I find three cute little faces ready to greet me!

Haha nice! How cute! Is it difficult to raise the mealworms? I actually thought about it years ago to feed the bluebird population before we moved. But now I wouldn't mind raising them for the chickens. Mealworms are expensive!

Mealworms are expensive!
That's exactly the reason we started the mealworm farm!

Not really! All you need is a three tier drawer cart, some whole oat flakes, and some source of water (fruit, vegies, etc.).
There are some videos on YouTube of how to make it that really help.

Thanks for the information! I am looking into vermicomposting with earthworms as well. Sounds similar. I'll check it out!
