I have owned Buff Orphintons, Sex Links, Brahmas, Specked Sussex, Black Copper Marans, Seramas, Americanas, New Hampshire’s and Cream Legbars. By far the meanest breed has been the Cream Legbars. I raised all these breeds from chicks and handled them a lot, most didn’t like it but I did it to be able to handle them when they got older and for the most part it works.
The Legbars that I currently have will chase the Americanas and Sussex and pull feathers, they would go out of their way to do it, complete bullies in many respects.
I have a small coop that I started with before I went crazy and built a 8x5x7 foot coop that I could use for supplies and everything else that is chicken related.
I put the first Legbar in there for three days by herself “sort of solitaire confinement “ and relished her back into the population. It worked she is getting along with everyone. I now have the second unruly inmate in there and if she doesn’t straighten up I’ll have to sell her, they are very good layers and I would hate to do that.

Update: After three days I released her. She was fine for about four hours then she started picking on one and I immediately stepped in and put her back in solitary “just a fenced in coop in the run” maybe a couple more days and she’ll get the message.

It worked! Back in the flock a few days now and a big difference in attitude. She is now getting along with the rest and did not lose her standing in the flock.
