Mean hen

I have one hen that is brutal to the others, she just packed big mama’s eye and is bleeding. I cleaned it with warm water is there anything else I can do? Mavis is a mean chicken but she also is obsessed with me and wants me to hold her all the time. Has anyone else had a needy chicken like that?

Hi there, I’m sorry about your chicken! I’ve read to flush the eye with a sterile saline solution and use a terramycin ointment (can be found at tractor supply), or plain neosporin (not neosporin with pain relief) in a pinch. Keep en eye on the eye for infection. I hope she will be ok. My lead hen is a tyrant sometimes and pecked a bald spot on the top of another hens head. Jeez! Can be so stressful.
