Henrietta likes to peck at me, and has since she was a wee chick. It's quite annoying, as it can really hurt. I just went out to put the other two in the coop and she was already in there. As my arm went in front of the door, she pecked the crap out of me... so hard it made a dime sized bruise!

Anything you can do to stop her from doing this? I'm going to find a nice new home for her if I can't get her to stop, as I'm not going to be scared to mess with my hens if necessary.

    Suburbanchick,
I am sorry, but that is quite natural behavior. Yet, is it pecking like your hand is food, or is it biting like a broody hen protecting her eggs?

I think she wants treats!!!!!! I feed my roo whole corn for a treat before dark to help keep him warm. I have a couple hens that peck at my clothes till I feed them a handful of corn out of my hand...then everyone is happy and content.
