Mean hens pecking out feathers of others. What to do?

Oh, they're already on their way.

I have 5 heritage breeds coming from a local hatchery that specializes in them, and 6 more coming from Ideal!!!

I need to build a bigger coop and run now!!! I'm officially chickdicted!!

If you can find some wheat straw and throw a little of it in every day they will enjoy scratching around in that.

Well this also happened to me i have 10 Buff Orpington Hens and they started "Ganging" up on one of my hens so i put scratch and corn in there feed and they stopped in about a week.....

Hmmmm, maybe I need to get them another bale of straw. They had one this fall, but I didn't replace it when winter hit. They get scratch everyday. My kiddos visit the coop pretty often to check for eggs, so the hens are constantly getting treats.

Maybe my roo was protecting the weaker ones, but getting too frisky with everyone. Now that he's in solitary so the girls can regrow their back feathers, Crispy is getting mean because my roo isn't keeping her in her place.

It's like a chicken soap opera!
