My roo attacks everyone except me. I'm happy he doesn't attack me but I can't let him attack my husband either. My hen hatched an egg in feb. so I know he's just watching out for the baby. Is there any thing I can do so he won't attack my husband. I love my roo very much. But I may have to give him up if he continues to attack my husband.

A friend of ours has a very mean roo that was chasing the children so he tied a string around both of the roo's feet and allowed enough slack for him to walk but not be able to jump and spur someone.

Your husband's the one who will have to "do" things.

Basically your Roo doesn't respect him, thinks he's either a threat or lower on the pecking order. So hubby's going to have to show him he's wrong. Someone are here has a link to a page on how to deal with an aggressive rooster -- I wish I could remember where it is, but I'm sure someone else will chime in. Basically it's all about showing ol' roo-boy that you're not scared of him. Always moving into his space first, picking him up and carrying him when he's fractious, sometimes moving on to sterner measures where necessary.

Edit: Ah, I found it: https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=2588-Roo_behavior
