Agree, roosters go through what many call "rooberty." They have raging hormones and are trying to figure out their role and what they should be doing. Sometimes they will also get more dominant with a hen they think is jeopardizing flock safety. Or he could be trying to mate but the hens aren't ready. He will over-react at times to the wrong cues as he tries to figure stuff out. If you don't have a place to put him and don't lot of predators, you could let him free range outside of the run for part of the day to keep the possibility of injury down. He will naturally gravitate to wherever the hens are. It's good to try to offer gentle feedback and praise when he does the wrong or right thing as they do pick up a lot from your tone of voice.
