Mearns Chick Questions

Controlled environment shed. Im actually adding a piece of wire to the tops of this box and others. What do you suggest?

I'm a little late to the party, and @007Sean might offer better information. However for my part, I'd like to see an all wire front (or side). I like a solid top and three sides (or solid back and two half sides, plus the solid top).

For the floor, if you have this in a shed and the birds aren't likely to be harassed from underneath, I'd consider a wire floor. Anywhere they might be harassed from underneath (dogs, cats, chickens, children, anything that might take an interest in quail toes), then the solid floor would be preferred IMO.

Just a later up date all Mearns are well eyes cleared up. Out of 13 chicks 10 females and 3 males. Just got in some new extra males to make up pairs. Thanks everyone
