Its been a while, but at one time I was reading a post on this forum where someone had posted a link to a breeder of barred rocks. This breeder had been working on getting them back to a better meat bird instead of the egg layer that most hatcheries tend to sell. I remember it was a heritage, not a hybrid like the kosher kings. I know there is S&G who has worked on a heritage white rock, but I prefer the barred coloring.
Have my first batch of cornish x and have decided I don't want to do them again. Would rather find a breeder who's selective breeding birds for better meat production than go with Ferrari's that have so many mechanical issues.
