Me and my father have been raising chickens for years but this is my first time raising them at my house alone, He takes his birds off starter after a week and goes straight to grower.

I have had my birds on starter right along now for about 4 weeks and they are MUCH bigger then his.

Im wondering can i just keep them on starter for the next few weeks until we process? if not when should i switch

Thanks

It may be best to drop their protein the last couple weeks. Are they Cornish cross?
You can continue the starter and just add some corn, oats, wheat to lower their total protein.

They are cornish x, So can i switch them now? i need to buy some grain tonight

I raise small batches 2x a year, for 3-4 years, and it seems that chick starter all the way has been best. I am not good at records, so take it as SEEMS in one guys oponion. My current batch is doing real well in there growth.
