I have some Cornish X birds that are about three months old. Long story short, DH and I have been slammed with work and have been struggling to find time to finish our meat birds. A week ago, one of them started sounding gurgly and phlegmy when breathing. No drainage, no swelling, and she acts perfectly healthy otherwise. I know we've had arthritis hit a couple of the others because they are getting too old, so could this be related to her "advanced" age?

DH thinks she's fine. I'm nervous about if the carcass would be safe to eat. Would you eat this bird, yay or nay?

I vote nay....

I'm not eating or selling any animal that's not healthy

12 weeks! They must be huge

Thank you for the input. I don't know what's going on with her and I'm not sure I'd trust the meat, either.

They are rolly pollies, for sure :)
