Meat chickens in NY

Can anyone tell me what kind of chicken is the best to raise in central NY.

Cornish X. Raise in spring or fall due to summer heat. I know a guy who raises 100 every yr. Only loses a couple each batch.

Go with the hatchery closest to you, so they have to travel less. It doesn't matter where you get them, they all get birds from the same places.

i got ours from Meyers, they were very healthy. What we did for the last three batches of meaty's we did was after they get past the baby stage of 3-4 weeks - leave feed out 12 hours, then take a way for 12 hours. let them have room to forage and stretch their fat little legs. always have plenty of water and shade.
