meat ducks?

I never even thought about Meat ducks! My daughter and hubby love the meat! How would one go about raising meat ducks?

how old would they be when we process them, and do I feed them a special diet?

You can raise Pekins or Muscovies as meat ducks. I believe the Pekins are ready in about 8 weeks and do not need a special diet as far as I know.

This spring im crossing my pekin with a male muscovy to get a good meat duck.Ok heres what I do.I feed the baby ducks NON MEDICATED feed becouse medicated feed is just not good for ducks.You can usually buy game bird feed or if they have it duck feed.Then once they are feathered out a lil and the weather is warm I put them outside and let them free range for 5 weeks.After that 5 weeks is over put them in a smallish run so they then pack on the pounds of meat after that butcher em in a killing cone or shakles whatever pluck them gut em age for 24 hrs and have the best roast duck.
