Meat for the chickies?

Most people don't feed their chickens meat, including myself, but in the fall they can always use extra protein. I will definitely not feed them chicken, even though it is technically okay, but what do you think about turkey? Any specific things to avoid? It could go to the cats if the chickens can't eat it.

I dont feed meat from birds i get at walmart just to be safe, but if its a turkey you butchered yourself, it's fine

Good point. Thank you! Next year I would like to butcher my own. It does make me think though, do we fuss more over our chickens or ourselves?

My birds personally. Theyre my life and I have no wish to risk anything happening that results in having to destroy my flocks.
