This is all wonderful very useful information and food for thought. I have a big sping fed pond on the east side of my farm, not far from my house. I have been trying to introduce the geese to the pond several, several times and they dont have much interest in it. I have even picked them up and put them in the water and as soon as they are in they do a U-turn and paddle back to shore so fast you would think thier were crocodiles after them. Sometimes I let get them to go out of the east gate the side yard to eat grass near where the pond is but they always end up waiting to be let back in so they can come back into the yard they keep mowed down. I guess they feel very secure there since thats where they were raised as goslings..All this tall green grass to eat and they want to be in the yard..GO FIGURE! But If i decide to keep two of the trio I have for breeding they will have to relocate to the east side of the farm. I purchased these geese from the local feed store and paid $10 a peice for them as hatchlings..I cannot imagine someone selling a grown goose for less then $25, they eat ALOT of starter crumbles that first month!
