We picked them up March 12th. No idea on actual hatch date, but they were new arrivals. I'd guess maybe 2 days old.

OHHH! so excited for everyone. We currently have 30 Cornish cross about 1 week old. We live in Montana and are still freezing at night, so they are in a pen inside the shop with a red heat l;amp on. I am so excited to have these soon in the freezer. We processed our own last year and things went great and they made wonderful dinners! We never name them and don't really hold or pet them, but do interact with them. I agree with everyone about them having a much better life than the ones we could buy at a store I don't know how to add pic's, but I have several of the pen and the young Cornish. we p[lan on butchering at 10 weeks. Last year we did them at 8 weeks, they were 61/2 lbs. to 7lbs. We do take away the food at night after a few weeks old, lost one last year to heart failure. proud of you all raising meaties too!

Do ya'll know if your suppose to decrease the protein as they get older? or just keep it the same? they sell dumor finisher at tractor supply and its 18% protein...just curious..

Thats good to hear. I bought another bad of feed yesterday and it should last them until 6-7 weeks processing. I don't know if I want to wait any longer than that. It gets hot here pretty quick and I don't want any of them dying early.

Yep, and that's more than the 24% chick starter they sell for $16.49.
