I thought meatloaf was the devils cake for awhile, but that's because my mother's meatloaf actually gave me food poisoning when I was 10 (It was bad enough I slept on the bathroom floor and hugged a toilet for 2 days straight). However, my husband's family is born/raised Midwest with meatloaf being a food staple for them so I caved when he asked if we could make it for dinner one night. It turns out I can make a pretty mean meatloaf! I'm not saying it's my favorite, but I'll eat it if I'm the one cooking it (mainly because of trust issues after that food poisoning and the lack of spice/herb usage around here ).
