Mine are 9 days old and today I put them outside in the sunshine. The coop is my original coop, and unused most of the year, hence there is a lot of green grass growing and some clumps of snow. They were delighted with their new digs, eating both snow and green grass.

I placed some old shower doors up so as to have a sun porch outside, several were snoozing when I went done to check on them. The layer flock is out free ranging today, such a lovely day and of course came over to snoop. They are positive that whatever I am feeding the chicks is better than what I feed them.

just a lovely day to be a chicken lady!

Congratulations.
I'm opting to hatch some local barnyard eggs with cockerels heading to freezer camp at first crow. Guy at work asked me - You really want to hatch 42? Well, incubator holds 42 and chicken math. I'm shooting for 5 hens as layers. For the layer flock.

Crazy Lady believed me!!! :gig
