Meaty Eggs??? I'm so puzzled!

Okay, so, I've had chickens for many years and I have never seen anything like this. The first time I was so confused and ended up writing it off as one of my chickens took a piece of ham that we had thrown them and put it into the nesting box. But now there's another one. The first one was probably double this size. I also about a month ago got this weird red egg and I couldn't figure that one out either. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? I'm worried something is wrong with one of my birds... Or maybe it's just Ham after all? I really don't know anymore.

Could be lash eggs. They are from an infection in the oviduct, also known as salpingitis.

Is there anything I can do for her? I have a flock of over 30 and I don't know how I'd figure out who has it. Now that I've looked it up it does appear to be a lash egg.

Looks like an enlarged follicle.

I don't think you can do anything except cull when she gets bad.

Did you cut this open?
Looks like an enlarged follicle.

I did cut the red one open, it was sort of like an egg. Had stuff on the inside like an egg at least! It was really quite weird

Just a yolk inside.... or albumen and shell too?
