I have a female Red Golden that had two swollen eyes and a large bump on the back of her head that had no feathers on it and was a little bloody. I first started trying to treat the eyes but she died two days latter does anyone know why? she was in a pen with one other female and one male.

I also have a male lady Amherst that between its leg and bottom stomach the feathers are missing and the skin seems to be torn I dont know what to do other than to make sure he has a clean dry place to set as he does not adventure out of his house in the last couple days other then to eat and drink. I do how ever see him roosting on his out side perch at night

Sounds like it might have been hammered by a pen mate. What size pen were your trio of Goldens in and can you describe the pen a little? Do you have any cover or hiding places where hens can go to escape from aggressive males?

they live in a 10 X 10 X6H pen with a 2deep X 4long X4H shelter with a roost built in side of it.

they share the back fence with my chickens, but they all have their own pens

sorry the red golden is no longer with us, but she had two swollen eyes and a large bump on the back of her head and was missing feathers and slighty bleading before she died
