So I thought it might be nice to have a thread of some of the "medical" tips and tricks we have tried or discovered with our quail. Perhaps some success stories, strategies, and/or cautions.
To get the ball rolling: I have a quail hen that I discovered the other day with a scalped head, blood everywhere... The short story: I brought her in, cleaned the wound, put some Polysporin in there, lifted the skin back up over her head and used some Crazy Glue to seal the wound. Crazy Glue is my #1 tip for any cut!! Works great and works for people and quail, lol. Just don't glue the bird to your hand - people get freaked out when they see you in Walmart with a quail stuck to your hand. Lol
That happened a week ago and she is all healed up and acting normal!! Although her head still looks odd because of the glue in her feathers but that will sort itself out.
