Do they have to have it?

What if my layers eat it do I have to pitch the eggs? If so for how long?

It's good to have because it (Amprolium) blocks an essential nutrient the protozoa that causes coccidiosis needs. The Thiamin blocker will not hurt your grown birds at all.

If babies are raised by a broody, I don't use it, but I use it for 12 weeks minimum otherwise. Coccidiosis is a fast killer.

Depends on who you ask. Most old timers and a lot of people in general do not use it. I myself do not and let my birds develop an immune system.
