First time Chicken owner here. My hens have just started laying their first eggs. They are finishing up medicated chick starter/grower that I mixed in with some layer feed since I wasn’t expecting eggs yet. I’m wondering if it’s safe to eat those eggs while they are on med feed, or should I discard them. Google had varying results, so I figured here would be a better resource. Thanks all!

If the medicine in your medicated feed is Amprolium there is no withdrawal period required for chicken meat or chicken eggs. If the medicine is anything else I don't have a clue if it is safe to eat the eggs or not.

To try to be clear, if the medicine is Amprolium I would eat the eggs. If it is anything else I would not eat them without doing some research.

Medicated chick starters (in the US) contain amprolium to help prevent coccidiosis. There is no egg withdrawal period.

I have often allowed my hens to help finish off a bag when I only had a couple chicks.
