I am not sure where to post this. I am wanting to compost my chicken manure but then thought about the medicated feed. does anyone compost chicken manure (chick) w the wood shavings when on medicated feed? If not when can I switch to nonmedicated chick starter and be ok? Appreciate any input. . .

I don't see why medicated feed would be a problem in compost. It's not an antibiotic, and even if it were, the quantity would be small.

I was told before to not let adult hens eat the medicated as it passes something to the eggs and some people are sensitive to it. Maybe it was sulfur? having a brain cramp....will have to get back to it

see if I can figure it out. I don't use it just in case...but of course I have plenty of stuff to compost without the chick stuff

eta-my point was that if hens can pass it to the egg I wouldn't be eager to put in compost if it was being used for food product, jmo...
