medicated feed and keets ?

Why cant they have med chick feed ? is it bad for them just dont know ?

It is okay to feed keets medicated feed as long as the feed has a sufficient protein content. Turkey and game bird starter is typically 26 -30% protein. Chick starter can be found as high as 23% protein but typically has only 18 - 20% protein. I did find one variety of chick starter that only had 16% protein. Feeding keets too low of a protein is bad for their internals development. Getting off to a poor start will follow them throughout their life. You just can't make up later for deficiencies caused in the first 2 to 4 weeks of their life.

Read the Raising Guinea Fowl 101 thread and pay particular attention to the posts made by PeepsCa. She explains about keet nutrition needs in post #78.
