A couple months ago, one of our dogs got into the coop and killed most of my chickens. Two of them were severely injured. I nursed them back to health and they are now laying again. Recently I purchased more chicks. I am not in a position where I can separate the 2 adult birds from the chicks. Should I let the adults eat the medicated food I feed the chicks, or should I feed the chicks layer crumbles.

Neither. Get a non-medicated grower feed and give crushed oyster shell in a separate container for calcium.
Yup, yup.

Any Grower, Flock Raiser or even non-medicated Starter/Grower would work just fine. Feeding a mixed aged flock? Standard operational procedure. Offer a calcium source on the side as only the layer's bodies will grave it. High calcium for a young bird potentially damaging to the renal systems. Young chicks don't mess the calcium dish very often.

Thank you very much, I will do just that. I have six other layers in a separate pen, (rhode island reds and black sex links) but they are mean to the two injured birds and I don't want to subject them to that after all they have been through. Thanks again,
