When I asked for medicated chick starter at the feed store they gave me medicated game bird feed. My Guineas are starting to sneeze a lot. Would it do any good to switch them to the medicated feed instead of the egg layer feed they're currently on? Also, I read pedialyte in chicks water......would it help the adult Guineas?

Thanks!

Did not know they made medicated game bird starter

why are you feeding that to the guineas? why were you wanting medicated starter for them?

I haven't fed it to them yet. I was just wondering if it might help. That's what they gave me when I asked for medicated chick starter at my feed store.

medicated starter is just for baby chicks not adults. You need to figure out whats wrong with them and give them something to treat that illness. A multi-vitamin will be good to start with, and perhaps someone else can help with what other meds they might need.

Ok...thanks. I wasn't sure what it was medicating against! lol Just that the chicks had to have it.

So is the pedialyte ok? Just till I can get to the feed store?

Actually chicks dont HAVE to have it, I've never fed medicated starter.

But anyway, Pedialyte is great for getting electrolytes into them. Think of it just like Gatorade though, it's not medicine.

They have several vitamin treatments. I know lots of people feed Poly Vi Sol (no iron!) which is sold for human babies, there is also stuff called Rooster Booster sold at feed stores for chickens.

Do some research and try to figure out what they have. There's some stickies on this forum and stuff. Maybe do a post of all the symptoms. You might find something else to help them.
