Medicated vs Non Medicated Feed

I was told by the girl at TSC that I should feed medicated Chick Starter to my day olds when I get them if they don't come vaccinated. I have tried calling the Hatchery directly and cannot get through. I have also asked the Farm Supply where we ordered through and they have no idea. Should I just assume they will be coming Not vaccinated and put them on medicated starter? The hatchery website indicates that Pullets are sold at 19 wks and fully vaccinated, but nothing about day olds.
Also, what is the best Chick Starter to get, both medicated and non? I'm in Canada if that helps. Thanks

Just use non medicated. You never NEED to use medicated.

She said it would help with runny/bloody poops and help fend off Coccidia. I only know about Coccidia in dogs, being a Vet Tech. I'm not versed in chicken medicine lol.

I never use medicated and and I have had pretty good luck with chicks so far.
