medicating new born chicks

I will have new bantam chicks hatching on the 18th. what I would like too know is should I vacanate them for mareks or any other illness after they hatch. They are pocelain feather leg bantams and there mother is doing a good job of setting on them.

If you were buying from a hatchery and they were going to do it for you for $.10 per bird then I would recommend it, but you shouldn't have any problems going without. If you check the stats on mareks for backyard flocks it's very, very low.

Thanks for reply. These chicks will be are 1st time letting the mother hen do all the work.My wife can not wait tell she hear's that little peep.
