Medication

No I am not.
I find it hard to believe a vet told you to use electrolytes for WEEKS.

I read.
Vet books.
I read them too. No, the hatchery where the chicks were from said you can give them and adult chickens too. When they are stressed, their immune systems are down and they benefit from the vitamins and electrolytes. Weather change, moving from place to place, etc.

Yes that is correct.
Use if for a couple of days.
Not for weeks at a time.

Really. I've been giving my poults and chicks electrolytes and probiotics and vitamin B complex in their water for 12 weeks (chicks) and 6 weeks (poults)- since they hatched. Someone told me to keep them on it too. So I shouldn't either? What about when it's so hot they pant?

:th Do you not offer plain clean fresh water?

No, I do not believe you should be offering it for this long.

Overuse of electrolytes is just as bad as underuse, both are an imbalance. In hot weather it’s best to stagger it, a few days on and some weeks off. Offer it when they’re put in a stressful event, ill, or suffering from the heat bad enough to have diarrhea.

Long term use of electrolytes can cause seizures and cardiac arrest at worst, lethargy and muscle soreness at best.
