Meds and eggs

I am treating my chickens for cocciosis . Should you not eat their eggs while they are on meds? I have1 that’s pretty pitiful .shes separated from the others but I guess I should treat them all,.

If you are treating with Corid (amprolium) then there is no egg withdrawl, it's completely safe to eat the eggs. And usually you treat all birds that are housed/living together, otherwise you may end up staggering treating as others may become ill. Best to treat all at once.

Thank you so much for the input. im losing one She’s got her head in the corner. I do have one more showing the signs, think I should separate her also?

If she is at risk of being attacked by others, then yes. If they are very sick I usually isolate in a wire crate for safety and because it makes it easier for me to monitor them and give them fluids if necessary. For the really sick one and any that may be showing symptoms you can give an oral dose of the corid for up to three days in addition to the medicated water, dosing for that is here:

If they are not drinking on their own I would also give them some of the medicated water orally every hour or so, til they start drinking on their own. They have to be drinking to take in enough to work. Corid is very safe, so don't worry about too much.

The sickest girl passed this afternoon, I had her separated. idid add the corridor to the water for all my other girls.. I’ll be watching them closely . Thank you so much
