Meet Broody Buffy - CHICKS are hatching! Pictures!

Update. Buffy brought her chicks into the run today with the hens. They all ignored the chicks for the most part, except the alpha hen. The alpha, a RIR pecked one of the chicks. Buffy then attacked her! I pulled them apart and things settled down. A few minutes later the RIR came back over and Buffy puffed up and made a lot of noise but moved out of the RIR's way. So I'm still not sure if they can be loose in the run with the big girls. I'm glad Buffy defended them, but I'm not sure if it worked. Here are some pictures from their first trip out - Buffy was so excited to take a dust bath!

Your Buffy and my Buffy are doing so well! Mine is taking the GrandChick all over the yard, mostly staying away from the rest of the flock except for during Treat Time or as the day gets late and they all begin to come back to the run.

This morning she was in the artichokes, right after I watered, digging for worms or whatever the moist soil would provide. GrandChick is getting bigger and looks so much like Rebecca did when she was a chick.
