Poor guy was born with a few problems. We were wondering if he'd make it but so far, so good. He was hatched on the 18th, so almost 10 days old now.

This is the day after he/she hatched

I think this is what they mean by "A face only mother could love"

Awwwwww................he's getting cuter by the day! Thanks for helping the little guy!

Give the little thing a lot of love but don't get too attached. Crossbeak is
hard for a chick to overcome.

We have an adult hen (Black Polish) that has a beak as bad as his.
He eats like a pig and doesn't have any problems drinking, so I'm hopeful.
As you can see, he is keeping up in size with the other chicks hatched that day and the day before

Excellent. I'm so glad to hear that. I had to euthanize a 12 day old last week
because he couldn't eat and was crying a lot. A lot of people have reported
cross beaked birds that survived fine so I am hopeful for yours.

Sorry, i didn't mean to sound insensative or anything.
